Hai and Thao Wedding | San Diego, CA | Day 1

Hai and Thao had a wonderful wedding this past weekend! It was filled with so much love and family! They had a 2 day wedding in San Diego, CA. The first day was a traditional Vietnamese wedding and the second day was a traditional American style wedding. Both were so beautiful and a lot of fun to be a part of. I met Thao and Hai several months ago through a mutual friend. Since then, I have shot their engagement party and their engagement photos. I have gotten the opportunity to get to know them over this short period of time and all I can say is that they are such a kind and fun-loving couple. They truly love their family and friends and each other. I am so happy for the both of them and I can’t wait for what the future holds for these two. I know in my heart that they will be truly happy for a lifetime because they have such a strong foundation. They are an amazing couple to say the least and I am so blessed and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of their special day.

Because it was a 2 day wedding, I have decided to split up the 2 days into 2 different blog postings. Here are a few of my favorite images from the first day that show off such a rich cultural ceremony. The entire day was filled with lots of tradition and family love. I’ll be posting day 2 in the next few days! Enjoy!

This is a watermelon carving of the couple in their Ao Dai! I have never seen a watermelon carving before! How cool is this?!

Thao and Hai Engagement Session | Grand Del Mar + La Jolla Cove | San Diego, CA

I met Thao and Hai a few months ago through a mutual friend. I attended their Vietnamese Engagement party last August. One thing led to another and now I’m going to be photographing their upcoming wedding in April at the Grand Del Mar Resort! Upon arriving to the resort, I was super amazed. It’s just so picturesque and serene. I loved it! I knew it would be a great day for shooting with all these great scenic spots to shoot at.

Thao and Hai are a great couple! They are both so smart, outgoing, friendly, and family oriented. I can tell that family means a lot to these two and I can only imagine that the joining of these two families will be a very joyous one indeed. =) Check out the latest family sessions we did that same day!

The first half the of the day we decided to take photos with their traditional Vietnamese outfits. We then spiced things up and did a family session in between and then moved it to La Jolla Cove to finish up the more relaxed casual session. It was a busy day for me. I had to drive to San Diego and drop my family at Sea World before heading to my 9:30am session. By the time I got home, I was so exhausted but I was also so excited to start editing the pictures. The whole day was oh so worth it though. I had a great day shooting Hai and Thao and their family. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in April. It’s going to be a great wedding!
