Andrew and Tracy Engagement Session | Long Beach, CA

This was a super fun engagement session for me. First off, I met Tracy a long long time ago during our years in High School. When she reached out to me to photograph her e-session, I was honored and super excited. Tracy and her fiance Andrew have been together for 11 years now! 11 YEARS!! That is truly fantastic and awesome. I love to hear when couples are together for so long. It’s too cute!  So it was no surprise to me to hear that they recently got engaged. Andrew and Tracy actually live up in the Bay area and come by to SoCal to visit family now and then so on one of their trips to SoCal, we decided it’s best we shoot their e-session. Our fun day was spent in Long Beach around the Shoreline Village area.  It was a hot and sunny day but the location was perfect for such a vibrant and loving couple.  They brought their dogs (Coco and Diesel).  Their dogs are way too cute and created such a commotion. It seemed everyone just stopped and wanted to pet their doggies. They are too cute!  I’m starting to want a dog and if anyone knows me, they must be totally shocked that I just said that. haha

Anyways, here are some of the fun photos taken in beautiful Long Beach….check out their hot shoes! This couple has some good taste!! =P

SoCal PhotogShootOut | Pasadena, CA

Yesterday, I had a FANTASTIC time at the SoCal PhotogShootout. The focus of the day was basically a mock engagement/wedding event with a Romeo & Juliet theme.  It basically went through the process of a typical engagement, getting ready, details, ceremony, bridal session, couple session, and reception in a matter of 4 hours.  It was an opportunity for people to get a chance to practice and experiment and learn from each other. I also had a great time meeting old friends and making some new ones. This event allowed me to test out different ideas I had in my mind and get creative and relax. It was so much fun and I learned so much from everyone around me. It was a very well coordinated event so I have to give a big thanks to the coordinators: Matt Saville and Hanssie Trainor.  You guys did a fantastic job so a very sincere thank you to you both. I’m sure it was a lot of work to put together in such a short amount of time.

Below you will see some of the awesome pictures I took throughout the day to showcase a typical engagement/wedding day process.  I hope you take the time to look through it all. The models/hair/makeup/stylists all did a great job too! Enjoy!!

Very cool, Sarina! You got some great shots from the event. Of course my favorite is the ‘flare’ shot. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make the next one…

iMAC Desktop

Lookie lookie!! I finally got with the times and purchased a brand new iMac desktop computer. I had my homemade PC for 5 years now and it has been giving me problems since it was created. My boyfriend, Hao, just got a new iMac and has been advising me how I needed an upgrade especially with my photography business growing.  After a lot of thought, I decided it was time to get with the times and upgrade. I have a cousin moving in with me as of next month, so I will be giving him my PC to use while I use my new iMac for all my photo editing needs. So far, editing has been fabulous. It’s super fast and has been saving me time and energy.

The iMac also allows me to have tons of more free space on my corner desk area. I love when I have more space! I hate clutter! But I have to admit, I am not used to the keyboard, mouse, or shortcuts yet. It’s going to take me a while to get used to the functionality of a iMac. But it’s going to be fun learning. Now if only I could convince myself to get an iPhone…in due time…in due time….

Welcome to the Apple brotherhood! I was like you, totally against Apple and had no clue what was where…just hang in there. Once you figure everything out, you’ll never go back! Plus, it does miracles for your workflow!!

Congrats on the new computer! Looks killer :) Have fun!

NEW Business Cards

Just got myself some new business cards!! I love them!

Shooting for fun with Jen @ Cal Poly Pomona

The other day my dear friend Jennifer and I hung out. After the mall, some lunch, and some fun chit chat we ended up at my old college campus of Cal Poly Pomona. Man, I haven’t been here for years and the library looks WAY better and now there’s a real parking structure! Geez! I guess that’s where my money went. I wish i could have enjoyed these facilities when I was actually studying on campus. It would have been awesome!

In any case, Jen didn’t anticipate me doing a portrait session of her but it was fun for me to practice and just have some fun with my camera. Here are some of the fun shots I took of Jen and of the Japanese Garden on campus.
