Disneyland Wedding | Erwin and Ilona | Part 2

Did you enjoy Part 1 of Ilona and Erwin’s Magical Disney Wedding? Well, get ready because Part 2 has just landed! This was photographed on a beautiful and fun Day After session at Disneyland in the VERY early morning hours before the park opened for the public. It is so serene to be able to see the park like this. It’s quiet, peaceful, and simply magical! This was the second time I’ve gotten the opportunity to shoot at Disneyland with no park guests and all I can say is that I’m one lucky gal.

Ilona and Erwin love Disneyland and to be able to shoot here with no people means so much to them. It’s definitely the icing on the cake for them and I am so proud to be a part of fulfilling their wedding dreams. Congratulations again!! I wish you guys nothing but the best!!

Day After Session | Trish and Scotland

I shot Trish and Scotland’s wedding back on 9-10-11 and it was such an amazing wedding! Trish and Scotland actually decided to not do any major formal portrait session that day so that they could enjoy the day with their family and friends and opted to do a “day after” session after the wedding. I’m so glad they decided to do this because we had the option of taking our time, not rushing, and getting some beautiful portraits done of them two.

You get way more beautiful pictorials to share with your family and friends!! *swoon* I’m in love with the pictures below. You guys are a gorgeous couple!!! Disneyland Wedding | Henry and Kate | Part 2

Yay! I’m so proud and excited to share with you Part 2 of Henry and Kate’s Wedding. Months ago, the couple informed me that they would be doing an “early morning” photo session at Disneyland a day or two after the wedding itself. I was all for it and excited to be a part of it. Who gets the chance to see the park with NO GUESTS?! Not many people that I know!

I met up with the couple at 6am and was kindly escorted into the park right as the sun was rising. It was amazing! Personally, I felt like a kid in his own VIP playground just ready to play and have some fun. I was stoked! The entire experience was something I’ll never forget and I wanted to give a big thanks to Henry and Kate for making this all happen as well as folks at Disneyland who helped coordinate and made Henry and Kate’s wedding experience truly memorable!!! You guys all rocked! I am so honored and thankful to be a part of it all too!

Henry though it would be an amazing idea to try and recreate it. Not bad of a recreation if I say so myself. It looks pretty spot on!

The people behind Henry and Kate are all guests waiting to get into the park at 8am. This was probably around 7:45am and it’s safe to say it was pretty cool being on the “other” side of that rope and having the park all to ourselves!

SoCal PhotogShootOut | Pasadena, CA

Yesterday, I had a FANTASTIC time at the SoCal PhotogShootout. The focus of the day was basically a mock engagement/wedding event with a Romeo & Juliet theme. It basically went through the process of a typical engagement, getting ready, details, ceremony, bridal session, couple session, and reception in a matter of 4 hours. It was an opportunity for people to get a chance to practice and experiment and learn from each other. I also had a great time meeting old friends and making some new ones. This event allowed me to test out different ideas I had in my mind and get creative and relax. It was so much fun and I learned so much from everyone around me. It was a very well coordinated event so I have to give a big thanks to the coordinators: Matt Saville and Hanssie Trainor. You guys did a fantastic job so a very sincere thank you to you both. I’m sure it was a lot of work to put together in such a short amount of time.

Jennifer and Kerry | Trash the Dress session | San Pedro, CA

I had another fabulous and very adventurous Trash the Dress session with my latest clients. Jennifer and I have been trying to set up the right date and time to do her TTD session. Unfortunately, it rained this week so we had to postpone it until yesterday. But it was well worth it. The sun was out shining and it wasn’t freezing cold. We headed to San Pedro where there were tons of tide pools and rocks and beautiful waves. Jennifer picked the place out and it was a great location to take some beautiful shots of the couple.

This was by far the most adventurous session I have ever had. It wasn’t your typical sand and ocean setting. There were tide pools, tons of rocks and pebbles, and no sand whatsoever. It was very difficult for the couple, my crew, and I to walk across the tide pools that were super rocky while the water built up and started causing stronger waves. As the water got higher and wavier, we couldn’t see the rocks we were stepping on and the waves didn’t help with our balance. So it was very difficult to walk as well as make sure our equipment stayed dry at all times. I had my cousin and good friend come along with me to help me with this particular shoot because I knew it would be difficult to handle it alone. They were nice enough to come along for the ride and help me. Unfortunately, the day had some tragedies. My poor cousin Kyle’s camera got soaked with ocean water when he fell while trying to walk in the rocky ocean. My friend’s flip flop swam away and said bye bye. I stubbed my cute toe and now it’s black and I have a few minor cuts and bruises. Man, all in a days work huh? hehe

But it’s all good. I was happy with the outcome and Jen and Kerry seemed to be happy with their pictures. So it was all worth it at the end and it was a great learning experience for us all. Jennifer and Kerry were a great couple who knew what they wanted. I love that! Jennifer’s dress was so beautiful too! Great taste Jen!

Trash the Dress | Nina and Matt

Firstly, I want to thanks Nina and Matt for the opportunity to be a part of their Trash the Dress session! It was so much fun and I adored how Nina and Matt were so willing to climb trees, get dirty, and run in a public water fountain! It’s like a photographer’s dream to have a couple willing to do such things! They are such an adorable couple! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in September! BTW, great idea to bring the red balloons!!

We shot their session at San Juan Capistrano. OK OK I know what most of you are thinking. “AGAIN!?” LOL But no worries. The couple picked it out but I had ZERO problems with it. First off, it’s a great location with so many different backgrounds and textures. Secondly, no one hassles you when you take pictures. And third, not many people walk in the background. Although there was this one time where this odd man came and asked to take their pictures and mumbled something and walked away. LOL

Personally, it’s not even the location that makes the pictures fabulous. It’s the couple!! The locations are just an added bonus! The pictures came out fantastic and I was so thrilled to begin the editing process. Oh! And my long time high school friend, Richard, helped me out with the session. Thanks Richard!! I’m glad you came out!!
