The importance of a photo album

I cannot stress how important it is to have an awesome album! Think about it….You finally decide to do a photo session (whether it be engagement, wedding, or family) where you look your best, feel your best, and you have some AMAZING photos that you want all you family and friends to see. But what do you do with all the great pictures you now have? My solution: an album!

I ain’t going to lie to you, albums are not cheap. But I have to stress how awesome they truly are. It’s so important to show off the beautiful images you just took. You should be proud and show people and say “Dude, I felt like a model and look that’s me!” It’s not like the old days where you print a picture and stick it to an album and that’s it. Albums nowadays are so impressive. They come in an array of colors, options, and sizes. They layout is perfectly hand-created to show off your photos. And the entire album itself tells a story about who you are!

I recently made this boudoir album for a client of mine. The one shown below is an 8×8 album. This is a great simple and affordable album that can be transformed into a baby’s first year album or an engagement album or a parent album.

I ADORE flush-mounted albums. They lay flat with no unwanted creases in the middle to ruin the beautiful image!

Dave Acosta | Jazz Saxophonist

I would love to introduce Dave Acosta – Jazz Saxophonist!! He is a very dear friend of mine. I have known him for several years now and he is one of the best Jazz Saxophonist ever!! He has played with some of the most famous Saxophonist in the world and has played in some of the hottest venues and worked some awesome events. He also teaches young kids how to play the saxophone and is great being patient with them. If anyone is interested in having a Jazz Saxophonist play at their wedding event, please feel free to contact Dave. He has such a passion for his music and his work. You will not regret hiring Dave for your wedding reception. He is AMAZING!!

I was so happy when he approached me to help him build his website and take some promotional photos for him. We headed to the streets of Pasadena to take some photos of him and his saxophone. It was a lot of fun and I think the photos really shows off Dave’s personality and his love for his music.

For those of you who are planning a wedding, your probably super confused with the array of choices offered to you. I haven’t gotten married yet myself, but I can only imagine how daunting it could be. So I wanted to take the time to send out my personal recommendations to those future brides.

Wedding Coordinator:
I don’t know about you….but if and when I get married. I’m so hiring a wedding coordinator! I just want to sit back and enjoy my day! I want to be stress free. Not to mention, I totally need a creative guru to spark some ideas in me. So if your in need of a wedding coordinator, check out In The Clouds Events. In The Clouds Events is is up and coming event planning company. The owner, Tina, is a friend of mine who fell in love with weddings and event planning. Check her out on Project Wedding! Tina is sharp, organized, and very creative!

Invitations:
Who wants generic invitations?? NO ONE! You want to be able to creative a unique, one-of-a-kind invitation that shows off who you guys are as a couple. Anna designed the invitations and place settings for my friend/bride Renu. She has a fabulous creative eye. Her company, La Design Boutique specializes in personalized invitations, placeholders, save the date cards, etc. She’s so friendly and awesome to work with. Check her out on Project Wedding.

Videographer:
I met Ronnie when we did the Trash the Dress session and wedding session for Nina and Matt. He is the owner of Sketch Images. Ronnie has been videographing for years now and he is such a professional. He is also super friendly and easy going. He’s also very affordable. He is so good a making the video cinematic. It’s the new trend now it seems. I had no idea until recent years. But it’s awesome!! I always thought I wouldn’t need a videographer at my wedding, but now that it can look like a movie, I’m so going to have one! It’s just too cool to pass up!
