Jo Koy | Filipino Comedian Portrait Session

Several years ago, my friends and I decided to catch our very first comedy show at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. The headliner that night was Filipino-American Comedian, Jo Koy. Little did I know, several years later I’d be doing a photo session with him.  When I first realized that I would be doing a photo session with Jo Koy, I was instantly excited and super nervous. But once we met, everything flowed so easily and the photoshoot turned out to be super relaxed and fun. I wasn’t nervous anymore and I just kept focus on capturing the essence of Jo Koy. He’s funny, silly, playful, and a great guy. He’s great to hang out with and also work with. Actually, he’s super easy to work with. You just tell him where to stand and he just whips out all these great facial expressions and poses. I loved it! Makes my life 10x easier when the model knows what he/she is doing.

Being part Filipino myself, it was a great pleasure to get to work with him. Jo Koy has been a tremendous positive force in the Filipino community. I am always thrilled to work with great folks who help promote Filipinos in such a positive way.  If you want to catch Jo Koy in action, he is currently on a comedy tour.  You definitely want to catch his show! You will not regret it! He’s hilarious from beginning to end. ”TING TING!!!!” =P

Here are the MANY crazy, silly, angry, and sexy faces of Jo Koy! Enjoy!!

Wow, sounds like a fun photo session with a familiar face. Now that you mention it, I have seen Jo Koy on Chelsea Lately…he provides the Asian perspective to the group in a comedic way. Very cool and fun photos!

Oh, these are goooooood. Spirit captured; awesome range. Funny – check. Handsome – check. You’ve caught all sides to him. Love the choice of backgrounds. Very impressed.
